About Me

Hello and welcome… I’m Lark! I created this blog to run alongside a YouTube series I started called The Lark Logs. I aim to document my journey towards financial greatness though better money management.

In June 2024, I was on the verge of completing a doctoral degree when my funding unexpectedly ran out. Losing my income so suddenly left me in a constant financial downturn that consumed all my savings and heavily impacted my life. I soon signed on to universal credit and needless to say, finishing my PhD was deprioritised while I navigated the many money problems I encountered daily. But now – one year later – I am about to press “submit” on that thesis, and what’s more, I already have a full-time job lined up!

For a long time, the cost of living has been been beyond what I could afford, and that has trapped me in an ever-increasing overdraft. I am incredibly grateful that I now have to opportunity to solve my money problems. There are so many things I have wanted to do, if I only had an income that covered more than the bare essentials!

My motivation is to live well and avoid ever being in a similar situation when the bare essential are beyond my means. I intend to do whatever I can to protect my income and make my money work for me.

If you would like to see how my journey is going, please check out my latest articles or YouTube episode. I will try my best to update every Thursday.
